Week 15 – Opening Up Some Doors…

I marked down “Decisiveness” for this first week’s virtue of Benjamin Franklin’s 13 Week Makeover. I “decided” that this was the one quality that needed the most attention in my ever-changing mind…I would love to do things with trust and confidence, not thinking things over a million times before moving into action… To be connected at all times to that inner voice which “knows” The Truth. And to trust it, to act on it, without the slightest hint of hesitation. I’m remembering The Way Of The Samurai.

With firmness, determination… conclusiveness, purposefulness, will power,… those are some of the synonyms I found online. And some other words related to decisiveness are persistence, perseverance, aim, intention… Now, don’t these words sound very familiar after 15 weeks into Continue reading

Week 14 – Four Tiny Habits That Change Your Life

rudy-1One of this week’s assignments was to view one of the suggested movies, and recognise the four tiny habits that can change one’s life for the better – having a Definite Major Purpose (DMP), a Positive Mental Attitude (PMA), a Plan Of Action (POA), and a Master Mind Alliance (MMA). Combine these four, and you have a formula for success.

Whenever somebody invites me to watch a movie, I’m there ! I saw “October Sky”, “Cool Runnings”, and “Rudy”, twice…

Let’s focus on “Rudy” for the time being, which somehow most resonated with me. The whole story is truly highlighting everything we are learning during this amazing MKMMA Experience Course.

Everything around Rudy, his entire family environment, is trying to keep him from realising his childhood dream, playing for the Notre-Dame football team. He doesn’t care what others tell him, that he’s too short, too slow, not smart enough, that the whole idea is stupid and Continue reading

Week 12 – Giving The Best

I missed last week’s webinar. I was playing a concert with the Dutch jazz pianist and composer Jeroen Van Vliet who received the prestigious Boy Edgar Prize that night. The whole evening was a huge success. The Bimhuis, the well-know jazz venue in Amsterdam, was completely sold out. The audience was warm and enthusiastic. Radio and TV were recording the event, press all over the place. And yet something didn’t feel right. I didn’t feel right…

I haven’t been performing much since five or six years now. I’m actually hardly playing at all anymore these days. A conscious decision, wanting to live a more balanced, healthy and regular life. I just play a handful of concerts a year, mostly because I have a hard time saying no to my musician friends… Continue reading

Week 11 – I Think I’m Smiling More

Eleven. I feel I’m moving ahead. Slowly improving. Advancing steadily. Like one of these icebreaker ships. Unstoppable. I feel stronger, mentally. Physically also. More energy. I feel more awake. Walking in the streets, my steps are clearer, more decisive, more conscious. More focussed. More powerful. More loving, harmonious and happy ? I sure hope so. I think I’m smiling more.

Probably the greatest improvement that I’m experiencing since the beginning of this amazing MKMMA course is that I notice the old blueprint’s procrastination getting weaker, slowly Continue reading

Week 10 – I’m A Gentle Puma

“I refuse to talk, to walk, to sleep with the sheep”.

It’s tough. It’s hard. I’m struggling. Like many of us I imagine. The days are too short, too many things to do. Maybe it’s the winter arriving ? It’s pretty cold out there. And it’s dark so early, 4pm…

OK now, stop right there. Stop whining. That’s about as far as we’ll go into that alley. I am a lion. A mountain lion. I’m a warrior. I know it’s all in my mind. It’s all my own blurred perception. I want to sharpen my senses and see the Truth. My mind’s windshield gets dirty now and then, from daily travelling. Dusty bumpy roads. I need to wipe it clean, to see clearly again. Chanting “Om” helps. Stretching helps. And I’ve continued to use “I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, Continue reading
